If you try installing a font and get one of the alerts The requested file is not a valid font file or The file does not appear to be a valid font this could be fixed by installing it from the Fonts panel:
Click on Settings > Personalization, and then scroll to click Fonts.
Then drag the font and drop the file on this panel.
