There's usually 2 ways to use fonts on iPad apps: by importing the exported font file straight into apps like Procreate, or by installing the font on the operating system.
Adding fonts on iPadOS is not as straightforward as on desktop, as Apple uses a configuration profile system to securely manage custom fonts.
The good news is that we've streamlined the flow:
In Fontself, tap the Sharing icon (on the top right) and tap Install Font.
In the dialog, tap Allow to generate & install the font's provisioning profile.
Then, open your iPad's Settings app, and tap Profile Downloaded (on the top right of the screen):
Tap Install.
Tap your device's passcode.
Tap Install again.
Your font will then be available in apps like Keynote, Pages or Goodnotes 🎉
Overwriting a font with a newer version
To replace an existing font with an updated version, it is recommended to first remove the previous version:
Uninstall the font as detailed below.
Reinstall the newer version.
Restart the host app in which you use the font to ensure there is no font caching problem, as detailed here:
Uninstall fonts on iPad
You can remove any custom font installed from your iPad's Settings app:
Go to General > VPN & Device Management
Tap on the font profile you want to remove
Tap Remove Profile
